Job Description:

NOTE: This position is for a full-time and/or part-time certified/licensed driving instructor and requires passing a 100-question instructor exam once employed. Class A Leasing will help prepare each employee for the exam and include paid training. Once passed and licensed, a bonus will be given for completing the exam after onboarding with our company (received within 30 days of employment).

  • Conduct demonstrations of assigned driving operations for students.
  • Ensure all students operate equipment safely and within company policy per Class A Leasing standards.
  • Supervise all assigned students and complete documentation of student attendance and training records.
  • Provide in-person instruction daily to students in the following areas: Full Pre-Trip Inspection, Basic Control Skills, and Road Driving for scheduled road tests and practice with each customer.

Examples of Key Duties: (Not inclusive and may vary with the individual assignment)

  • Prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
  • Prepare classroom and range for class activities
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
  • Use relevant technology to support instruction
  • Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development
  • Provide appropriate feedback on work
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
  • Update all necessary records accurately and completely.
  • Prepare required reports on students and activities.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom and on the range by enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Maintain daily attendance through the time clock.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students and colleagues regarding student progress and student needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Knowledge of: (at entry)

  • Considerable knowledge of CDL requirements;
  • Considerable knowledge of equipment;
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, assemble and organize data, and prepare reports;

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

As part of your dynamic day-to-day, you’ll find yourself actively engaging with our fleet, hopping in and out of trucks regularly. Your role will also involve a mix of standing and sitting, sometimes for extended stretches, to suit various tasks and training exercises. Moreover, you’ll gain experience working in a range of conditions, as our training grounds expose you to the elements, from the warmth of summer to the chill of winter. It’s a hands-on way to prepare for the realities of commercial driving!

Job Type: Full-time/Part-Time

 

  • Consistent hours, 8-10 hour shifts available.
  • No nights
  • Weekends as needed

Pay: $73,000-$100,000 per year
